Just had a call from the same John Wright. Obvious from the start that it was a scam, and I'm also not with Telstra. I asked him how stupid he thought I was . . he was persistent though :) I asked for his full name, phone number and ID. Poor dear got a bit confused and had forgotten he'd introduced himself as John and the start of the call and said he was David. I said he should be more particular when he was lying and he said "Oh you mean my name . . um . . John?" Hate to think how many elderly, unknowing computer users fall for this A-hole!

My 80 year old Dad got a call from 'John' on this number, telling him that his server had been hacked and that his internet license was about to expire and that he needed to renew it. He used pressure tactics to try and get money out of my Dad. Dad played along and said he would have to borrow the money from his daughter. 'John' even offered to renew the license upon receipt of the money and then return the money to Dad 24 hours later. What a scam. These people are the scum of the earth.
