I was contacted by phone today and informed that National Broadband Network was upgrading the copper internet connection in our area due to numerous complaints of unreliable landline service. As I only had a Technician here yesterday, it seemed coincidental, however I was suspicious. When asked for validation they provided this number and the name of Jamie Wilson. As I could not get on to Telstra (yet again) I googled the number and found this site.. Very helpful to confirm my suspicions. Definitely another hoax.
Scam phone number 02 80034917. The number was was given as a return number for an National Broadband Network maintenance call as they were doing maintenance in our area. A check of National Broadband Network website indicates no maintenance work is in place or scheduled for our area.
FAKE National Broadband Network NUMBER. They scammed money out of my bank account. Hacked into my computer, phone and bank account.
Got a call from a Peter Wilson about upgrading my National Broadband Network and when I queried, they gave me this number to verify 0280039917. Called the National Broadband Network on their listed number (1800 687626) and was told it was a scam.
Its Useful, I have been helped numerous times. Its National Broadband Network Tech Desk contact number.
I even thought this is Hoax as I was called unexpectedly. I was infact rude to them initially, however after a Brief conversation I realized, it was actually National Broadband Network and they helped me Upgrade my Line which Telstra failed even after lots of complaint. I was contacted by phone and advised that the National Broadband Network was upgrading my copper internet connection with glass fibre. Initially it seemed plausible however after a short while it didn’t. When asked for validation they provided this number and the name Peter Wilson. I phoned my provider instead & they confirmed that there were no such planned upgrade works - it was another hoax.
