I got an email that said this number was related to a purchase I made for an iPad on eBay, with a delivery address to 46-52 Meagher St, Chippendale, NSW, 2008, Australia. However, I'm located in Queensland and did not make such a purchase. When I called the number to challenge them about this, they hung up on me.
Called me claiming to be from the Optus billing department. I told her that I have not been with Optus for years. She said thank you and hung up.
These guys are 100% scam.

Indian lady calling with no details fishing for information as Optus was offering 50% discount due to COVID. She didn’t do any security questions. Scam. We asked if we could call her back but she was blunt.
Call came on public holiday Monday. ?strange. Suspect scam so I deleted it.

I told him I'm happy to keep paying full price and he asked if I was prepaid or postpaid.
When I asked why he doesn't know this information if he's working at Optus, he took a stab in the dark and said "our system says prepaid". He was wrong.
I laughed and told him he's really bad at scamming people and should give up. He swore and hung up.
Indian woman pretends to be from Optus, asks straight away if you want a discount for 3 months at 50 percent I said my bill is 120 dollars she said we can offer 50 dollars, she only wanted dae of birth, she was a red flag straight away as she didn't go through any privacy questions or mentioned her name or didn't even ask for the mobile number.
Just had them call me as well. Claimed to want to give me 50% off my next three bills. Asked for my personal information but I asked them to prove they were Optus first. Asked for them to tell me my account number and she cracked it and hung up.

Called me and introduced himself as Tony from Optus Billing department. I said I was not with Optus (I am). Then he said sorry and hung up. I then contacted Optus via the app and they confirmed my suspicions that it was a scam.
Do not say hello first, let them speak then take your time to respond. Never give information via the phone when you are the customer.
Called at 6pm at night saying they were Optus offering half price on my bills the next 3 months. Asked me my thoughts. I said what is the catch and she was disappointed I wasn't interested so I hung up.
