- Lack of Verification: The caller was unable to provide an email address or a reference number, which are standard practices in legitimate tax or financial companies to ensure security and privacy.
- Unsolicited Contact: The caller initiated the conversation by referencing an account of previous discussions that the recipient never confirmed took place.
- Identity Verification Failures: Authentic companies follow strict privacy protocols, especially when dealing with sensitive information like taxes – failure to do so raises red flags.

What Our Users Reviewed
Answered this call, caller knew me by name, claimed to be from a company with "Equity" in it's title, claimed to have spoken to me several months ago about Tax and had information for me concerning what we had spoken about, I asked if he had my email address to which he replied "no" and he had no reference number on offer.
To my understanding all legitimate companies have a privacy act process (esp. Government entities and their partners) of verification to clarify individuals as being the person/s they are contacting and or engaging in verbal communications.
The caller had an Australian accent (I'm a Kiwi living in Australia) and all those who know, know we kiwi's have a good banter system with you Aussies, so beware my Aussie cousins don't be fooled please.
I disengaged from the conversation, hung up, blocked the number and now informing you all to choose wisely before giving any information.
Good luck.. Be safe.
