    This number called me twice in the span of a couple hours, but when I tried to call the number back (in case it was legit) there was no dial tone or instant robot speech, just nothing. My iPhone says they're based in Sydney but who am I to trust it. Stay safe yall.

    Just received a phone call from this number by an Indian man claiming to be from 'Telstra National Broadband Network' and saying that my internet connection will be terminated in 24 hours unless I upgrade my modem. I could hear the sound of an Indian call-center in the background. I told them that I don't mind if my internet gets disconnected. They hung up:)

    Just received a call from this number - 02 8000 2206. It was an automated/recorded voice saying "this is a call from Amazon" I hung up and didn't bother listening to the rest of the messages as it's a scam call. Ive also received 'spam/scam' emails this week from "Amazon" saying my account has been hacked or compromised and to send log in details so they can fix it - or "click this link to update you log in info".

    Logged into my actual account separately of course and no issue, but I changed the password just in case. So much email and phone spam going around at the moment - stay vigilant people.

    I got a call from this number and told me that it's from National Broadband Network provider. Told me my internet router is used by someone and that they received error and warning from my IP address. Then asked me to download Anydesk to remode control my laptop. Gained access to my laptop and later on asking me to log in to my bank account and force me to buy products like Skype chat and another one. Bank transition went to Global collect bv or something like that. They were actually went in my bank account and order the product telling that it for my protection. I was so scare but also freeze and later realise it's probably scam. I called the bank immediately and blocked my account and cards. Sound like Indian and kept asking me to use my account and bank card. When I said I am not comfortable and refused I can hear that his voice get angry. I was damn but I don't want anyone to have this same unpleasant experience like me if there is anyone out there who is weak and trusting.

    SO DON'T EVEN PICK UP THE PHONE.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
