Yes, yesterday afternoon. Beeps, whistles and a female voice telling me I’m being infiltrated and to ring 02 7912 0290. I rang the number expecting a scammer and intended to waste their time, but no one answered. Be careful.

This call informed me that my computer has been blocked and that I should contact "Microsoft Support" using the number provided for assistance. It felt like a scam attempt to gain access to my information.

Scammer alert. The Microsoft Alert is fake.
Do not call this number. It is supposedly a Microsoft Support number, however, all these scammers want you to do is to give them remote access into your computer. A "Windows Defender - Security Warning" message may appear on your computer, when you click on a Message link, warning you that your computer has been blocked for security reasons. Just hit Ctrl Alt Del and go into Task Manager and End the program.
