Had two calls from these idiots so far. First one I played them for 1 hour. Asked me for the phone number of local Police Station and they called back using fake caller ID for the police station. Told me I would have to close my bank account and transfer all funds to a "secure wallet" where it would be quarantined until I was issued a new Tax File number as mine had been used for money laundering and drug trafficking to the value of $ 2 000 000. I gave them some phoney bank account numbers and BSB numbers, before I got sick of playing and blew a whistle in their ear. Please don't hang up on them, play with them and waste their time for as long as you can.

Apparently I owe the tax man and he is coming for me and my tax number has been disabled (machine talk to start with) blah blah blah. I tried to play along hoping I could get to talk to a real person because I thought there could be some fun to be had in that but it disconnected before I could really get on to a person. Obviously a scam - hope they try again.

Got a call from this number but when I couldn't answer, I then got a call from 0438483963 but also couldn't answer. The male voice did not give his name or of the business but made out I had a legal issue re. Tax and I needed to 'press 1' to find out more. That's when I knew it was a scam. The ATO never call you directly (they send a proper letter by snail mail).
