This bunch of wankers are scammers.
I received a call on my mobile, and when I answered, there was no response. It seemed like a robotic message directed me to press numbers related to citizenship status. I got the caller’s name upon returning the call but didn't stay on the line long to speak with a consultant. Considering the nature of the call, I have classified this number as a scammer and blocked it.
Phone gave a scam warning so let it go to voicemail. They left a message with a robovoice claiming to be Pandemic Emergency Service, press 1 for English,2 for Chinese or international...
Didn't pickup the call but judging from the random calls I've been receiving lately. Highly likely scam.
I think this is some sort of consultancy service. When I called them back, I waited in a queue until I was first in line, but then the call suddenly dropped. I've decided to block this number to avoid any further issues.
Scam.
I received a call offering two options: 1-Australian citizens and 2-Chinese citizens. They then had a Mandarin-speaking person, who had a strong Taiwanese accent, take over the call, claiming to be from the “Sydney Government of New South Wales Health Department.” This seems odd since I work for NSW Health myself.
