It's a scam, plain and simple!
I usually never know what type of scam the scammers that call me are running (as I don't answer).
This time, my phone's call screening took it & I learned it was the Australian Border Force!
Don't waste your time.
The caller claimed to represent Australian Border Control and mentioned having a package from Mexico. They asked for my name to confirm it was the correct person. The caller stated that my phone number was linked to the package. When I asked them to provide my name for confirmation, the caller identified himself as Paul Terrill and stated the package was from a Maria Sanchez.
Normally, I don’t engage with unknown calls, so I'm usually unclear on the kind of scams they might involve. However, this time, thanks to my phone’s call screening feature, I discovered the caller claimed to be from the Australian Border Force. Don't bother answering; it's a waste of your time.
The phone operator admitted right away that this was a cold call, which is uncommon. I informed her that I do not accept cold calls and that my number is on the Do Not Call Register before hanging up. This ongoing influx of unsolicited calls is having a detrimental effect on my mental health.
