A rude man claiming to be a representative from Telstra contacted me, talking about my internet service. The issue is that my household does not have Telstra internet. He became increasingly snarky and rude during the conversation, prompting me to hang up.
Definitely a scammer. Left it to ring out, and voicemail stated the following:
“Which is $300 on eBay and $1300 on a foreign transfer if you're not the person behind this transactions then please press one to talk to our visa department representative thank you…”
The audio was robotic in nature, and I have no eBay accounts or foreign transfers logged with my bank.
The caller left a jumbled voicemail regarding eBay, spoken by a woman with an American accent. I do not have an eBay account and found this message confusing.
I strongly believe this is a scammer. I let the phone ring and then listened to the voicemail, which included a robotic voice saying, "There is a transaction of $300 on eBay and $1300 for a foreign transfer. If you are not the person responsible for these transactions, please press one to talk to our Visa department representative. Thank you." I have no eBay account or any foreign transfers linked to my bank, and the automated voice made it obvious this was not a legitimate call.
