Hi,

I've received a message first, apparently from CommBank, that someone will contact you with this number to verify a recent activity on my debit card. They have also provided a ref. No in the message.

Then I've received a phone call from this number in less than a min, the guy said he is from Commback and knew the ref code, mentioned there was an attempt to debit ~700 from my account that they are trying to verify it.

So, when I said it wasn't me, he mentioned that then they need to cancel my card issue a new one and I said, no problem but he started to ask some questions, SECURITY QUESTIONS!!!, about my card number, expiry date, last transaction,.. And firstly I gave them my last 8 digit of cards and last time I've purchased transferred money but then felt unsafe to give him my CCV number and told him I would rather to go to a branch and talk to them face to face.

Still not entirely sure if that was a legit call or not but definitely didn't look like a normal call.

So, please check with your bank and be mindful.
