    I have had about 10 digital messages from a Sydney number and then today from this number. All the same telling me I have to call them or police will turn up at my home or place of employment. Is anyone investigating this and putting a stop to them? I have blocked each number they call me on, but they just get another number and do it again. Scam!

    This number called me today I couldn't answer because I was in class.

    So they sent me voice mail saying that I am required to call them back or I will have to face a police officer at the front of my house or in my place of employment.

    I called them back at 4:22 pm after I finished school but there is no answer.

    Thx to the guy who commented here and said its scam I will f* them up cause they scared the shit out of me.

    This is a scam. Telling me that they are calling from the tax office and that I have an outstanding amount on my account, and that if I want to keep this out of the court room I have to pay this amount over the phone right now. Funnily enough when I asked him for his address so that I could deliver the amount to him, he hung up.

    Be warned!!!!

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
