Had an automated call saying police threats and needed to call back.
Called back and yes it was john who identified himself from the ATO nd how in this case they owed me money so police coming to my place to arrest me. But he says they owe me money go figure.
What was disturbing they have some legitimate information so be careful.
I said I needed his ATO identification number and he made something up that was BS XYZS and I almost laughed BS is correct about these people.
The ATO or ASIC and Police should take action as surely it is against the law to impersonate a Commmonwealth employee. Everyone knows the ATO does not work on Good Friday it is hard enough to contact them in normal times and you rarely ever have a direct number.
Be careful.
Got this today, a public holiday...
Went to voice mail. Listened and an electronic voice told me ATO + police at my door, to call back. Yeah, right. Blocked.
I just rang the number back after reading others comments. Some Indian sounding man saying that they were from the ATO and that I had a tax return refund of $1100. I said that my accountant deals with all of my financials and that this could not be the case. When I started asking 'who is this' he immediately hung up. Scammers.
I got a call to at work I picked up is was a male recording voice saying I had to call them back or out the police at my door so I'll call them back then I found out it was the taxation Department and they Olmi $1100 for the day was passed my credit card details I said no and then I said can you send me an email with this information and then he told me to f***k off.
Received an automated voice call today 13th April 17. Claiming to be from the Commonwealth Bank. Police at my door etc must call back. Returned the call to blocked number. I've blocked the number and reported it as spam.

Yeah I had him call to. First I got a recorded message about the police on the way to my residence about my taxation.... So I called him back. The idiot answered the phone! So I told him I was happy to talk to him... Im glad he called. He hung up on me! So I called him back 40 times. Now he doesn't want to talk to me. His name is John!! So I've put his name and phone number on facebook encouraging everyone to call him and I've reported him to the ACCC.
