These are unprofessional scammers claiming to be from the ATO. They’re from Lahore Pakistan and this matter has been reported to the police.

The gentleman with an Indian accent claimed he is calling from Canberra working from ATO. HE WANTED TO VERIFY MY NAME, DOB, TAX FILE NUMBER AND ADDRESS IN ORDER TO EXPLAIN THE PURPOSE OF THE MISSED CALL.
BEWARE.. Got to be a SCAM. They ring and hang up quickly. When you ring the number back an Indian accent man answers "Australian Taxation Office, how may I help you". Come on.... Since when do they ring you! How come the authorities can't chase and convict these guys for impersonating a government office???
