Three callsign two days.
When I called back I got a weird dial tone before it connected to a guy with an indian voice claiming I was being investigated for serious fraud.
When I challenged him he yelled at me about being dumb !!
Then he hung up.
Pretty freaky. Def a scam --- beware.
Not being home, the phone went to message bank so the beginning of what must have been a prerecorded accent-less female voice was cut off but said that my house is under surveillance and should ring them back immediately to avoid prosecution.

Its a big SCAM guys from overseas claiming to be the ATO. They are using local numbers to make the calls. I know its a pain but just ignore it.

Got a call from a computer generated voice claiming to be from Commonwealth Department of Public Prosecutions working for the ATO. It said "This call is to make you aware that we have received an affidavit against your name where you are been listed as a primary suspect for the case been filed against you and you have..." and that my home was under surveillance, and that I had to call back urgently.
I called back and an Indian male told me that they had filed charges against me for tax fraud and that the ATO had written to me 3 times about this.
I said I communicate with the ATO via MyGov and that I had received no such communication. They then hang up.

Just had this call. Didn't know number so I sent it to voicemail.
Got a voice mail which I couldn't understand from a guy claiming to be from a department working for the ATO. He said I had charges against me for tax fraud from 2008-2013 to the total of about $1300.
I said I would do nothing without written notification from the ATO about this. Unfortunately he had my name and mobile number (from where I don't know) and when I started challenging him about my number being on a call list, he hung up on me. Do not trust this number. This is a scam.
Got the same call with a recorded message in voicebox. The number asked me to call a mobile number about the charges against me. I called back the number that originally called and some scared punk answered who asked for my name in which I just hung up.
