HI, I Got call from 02 61528694 The gentelman said I am Victor calling you from ATO and ask for my lawyer's detail. I was very upset because I paid tax one-time always. He ask for TFN number for verification but I refused and he said you will go in custody It was scam please beware of this number.
Received a call from 02 61528694 stating he is calling for ATO and threatening arrest for infringement of tax laws. I claimed I have never infringed any law - he asked for my lawyer details which I refused to give. He said he will ask the police to arrest. Never heard of such arbitrary kind of government action. I am sure this is a big cheat. The police needs to look into this and keep this number under observation.
So much for the do not call register.
I received a call on my answering machine today to say we were under investigation from the ATO for tax evasion. The caller did not leave any reference number for me to call him back on. The ATO are not allowed to contact you personally they should always go through your accountant. The caller stated I should ring back on 02 61528694 or legal action will take place. He finished the call with may you day be blessed. What a scam.

Called out of hours and there's no message or automated answering system. What government office doesn't have an out of office message? Doesn't know your name? Doesn't provide a name?
Ato tax scam. Just had a message on our machine. You can tell it is being read from a script. It's geared to USA scamming... Who uses terms like this in australia.

Same guy, trying to get details. Obviously not a real ATO number, debt or prosecution department. He didn't give name or company. Tried call him back to let him know about it, but didn't get an answer.
Said that I owe tax, if I didn't pay the amount outstanding, I would be taken into custody and have to pay 75000.00.
Received a voice message quoting this number and then next day another voice message quoting (02) 61528673 no name nor company given. Mentioned if I did not return the call there would be legal consequences.
At this stage I have ignored both calls and put myself on the "do not call register.".
This is definitely a scammer trying to get information from you! DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO. Especially pertaining to your finances or your whereabouts.
Received a message today to return call to 0261528694 saying he is from ATO and that we have a legal case pending against us and to return call.
Said they were Australia tax office. Definitely a hoax.
