Very irritated with “Jason O'Connor from the Australian Tax Office" who left me a voice message saying, "the nature and purpose of this call is that a law suit has been filed against you for tax evasion, a police officer issued a warrant for your arrest... Kindly contact us on 02 6152 8681". The scammer has a strong South Asian accent.
Same as many others left message saying he was Jason O'Connor and that there was a warrant out for my arrest and to ring him back to avoid it being executed.
I have reported it to the scam line but question why with the phone number the police do not put him out of business.
I received the call on my answering machine today.
Apparently the police will be hear at 1pm to arrest me for tax evasion according to their message. I did answer one this morning that I am guessing is from the same jokers, the caller got very upset when I told him he had the wrong number and was very abusive, he then spent the next 20 minutes calling me and leaving messages detailing how I was going to be killed.
I received the same message today at 1.30.
I also received an answer machine message from this number stating I was being investigated for tax evasion, and that I should ring back. Before I left the house this morning, I also received 2 calls from 02 8015 6963 & 03 9892 7079 which were apparently wrong numbers. I anticipate that if I had not picked up the phone, then I would have been left the same message!
Yes I have now received 2 missed calls from this number with messages left - last one yesterday (31/8/2015) stating that to avoid getting a visit from the police (maybe even on the street) to arrest me! I need to call them back. Friend in Tax Office confirmed no calls like this would come out. Such a shame they can get away with this as people will be intimidated. Persons name left was Jason Oconnor with the number 02 6152 8681. Either was an automated/computer generated call or was a very strong foreign accent.

Left a voice message stating nature of the call that "you are being charged with tax evasion and a law suit is going to begin soon and if you do not pay your debt a local police officer will be coming to arrest you". Funnily enough he had the strongest accent I've ever heard yet his name was apparently Jason O'Connor. Definitely a scan, beware!
I received a call on friday 28th August 2015 from the following phone number (02) 61528681 claiming I had a tax debt that required payment in full. A check on the internet would indicate this scam is continuing.
Same as above... They sent text message concerning tax evasion and tax fraud demanded I call back on 0261528681.
Same deal - message left (after hours!) from the "Tax Headquarters" regarding tax evasion - no names mentioned though - must be a scam call so be warned.
Scam call tell me I taxed evaded although they didn't know my name? Since when would the Australian tax department discuss this over the phone! Stupid person then said if I didn't call back there would be criminal charges!!! BEWARE SCAM!!
