Just got home and saw the same message on my answeringm machine, saying to call ATO or else legal action will take place for taxation fraud committed by me. I nearly had a heart attack. Thank God its a hoax.
I got the same message left 2 days in a row saying they were from the CDPP for the ATO. However the call back number was 02 6152 8612.

Received a similar message on my answering machine. Listened to it twice, realising it was a hoax. This needs to be dealt with immediately. Many vulnerable people, particularly the elderly will be extremely worried at the thought of being investigated by the ATO.
I had this call today too. I rang it back they said it was the ATO but to call back that everyone was at lunch. When I called the ATO they said it was a scam.
I got the same spam call today recorded in my voice message. Saying that calling from ATO Canberra. Need to contact them ASAP otherwise I will get the legal action. ATO need to act ASAP to protect there citizens.

Same thing happened to me yesterday. At first I was so scared to get it on my answering system of my home. So I phoned the nr explain to the person who answered and it was another voice not the one who left me the message, I asked him what it is all about because I know all our taxes is up to date and both our businesess as well. His answer was everybody is busy and I should phone back in an hour. The best part is when he answered he just said this is ATO in Canberra how can I help? So after he told me I have to phone back in an hour I kept asking explain or put me through to the person who left message. Then he said everyone is busy. And then he put the phone down in my ear. So I contacted my accountant and he looked into it and he send me this info also that he will be reporting them today. Warn all your friends. Especially if you have kids that doesn't really know how things work with ato even if they have jobs and will be doing yearly tax soon. They won't know and will feel intimidated and these people can take their money. This is so wrong on so many levels. But keep reporting them.

How can this be legal, how do police and phone companies allow this to happen, why cant the number and people be tracked and prosecuted (and hopefully deported).
I receieved a message on my answering machine telling me they have "filed a legal case against my name concerning Tax Evasion and Tax fraud" and I should ring this number and if I didn't return the call "there would be serious consequences".

Obviously doing the rounds, I rang back and gave them a mouthful. Spoke to a guy with an Indian accent? Can we find the actual location of that number and send in the FEDS?
Yep have the stupid dickhead leave a message on our answer machine saying he was from the ATO Canderra, and that we were being charged for legally avoiding our taxes. Biggest crock of crap ever. We do our tax return and pay our taxes every year. Someone needs to deal with these scamming pricks.

When I first received a call from these people, I called the caller a parasite and hung up.
He left a message on Telstra 101 telling me that my tax violation case would proceed and that I could suffer serious legal consequences if I did not call the ATO back on 02 6152 8658.

We also received an automated call from a man called Alex saying he was from the ATO Headquarters in Canberra. He advised that he had filed a violation because of tax violation and that legal consequences would follow if we did not call back. We have not done so. This call was made to a business number.

I received a scam voice message saying that I needed to contact this number regarding a Tax Evasion Legal Case and that if I did not call the consequences would be severe. Obviously I did not call the number!

Got a call saying they were the ATO and that they were bring a case against us (no names) and needed to call back this number. Will contact the ATO but believe it to be a scam call.
