Called me and left automated message about police coming to arrest me for tax evasion! I called back the number and person I spoke to required a person whose name was not mine, said would transfer me to Jason Oconnor to get cleared out and phone cut out. Police said it was a well known scam.
I received the same call from Jason O'Connor. I am reporting them to the police. I request anyone else who receives this call to do the same.
I had a call also from the same guy, Im now calling the Police to Report this matter.
Had same message at 10.20 this morning call from a Jason O'Conner (with accent) from the ATO as we owed tax and the police would be coming to our house if we didn't return call ASAP. Same as other people in comments didn't mention a name which made me suspicious to begin with.

A message was left on my answering machine by a Jason o'conner demanding a phone call back as the police where going to arrest someone for tax ivasion.
I rang back knowing its a hoax as we have an accountant to look after my husband's business.
He slammed the phone down when I asked who he was talking about and about having an accountant. I rang back to get a different guy and asked if they were the tax office he said they were.. I replied "well if we owe you money and your chasing me why would the ato hang up on my" he too hung up.
I received a similar automatically recorded message from Jason O'Connor who said that I have some problems with ATO and I have to call 02 61528648. Called him on this number, asked to talk to his supervisor and asked him where he is located. He hanged up on me.
Had the same call as the above left as a message on my answering machine, Jason O'Connor (sounded Indian) threatening that a warrant had been issued for my arrest (didn't mention which member of the household this was for) and that I needed to call 02 61528648 to "stop the police from coming". I will be reporting to ACCC, ATO and Crimestoppers.
Had a similar call from a Alan Johnson, also reporting to be from the Canberra office of the ATO and claiming I had to call this number or be arrested for failure to pay taxes. Rang Perth ATO and they have no record of this number being attached to any ATO office in Australia.
Received a message this morning on my home phone line from a Jason O'Connor saying he was from the legal office of the ATO and that I was being sued for non payment of taxes and that if I did not ring him on that phone number a policeman from my local police station would be around to arrest me. I will not ring that number back as I am on the aged pension and have been for a number years and do not pay tax.
