Just got a scam call from this number as well...
Just received a call from this number, recorded robotic voice on the other end stating ATO is filing a lawsuit against me, and urging me to phone the above departmental number.
Its a joke they can get away with it, they will scam some and make heaps, not good.
I also received a call from this number claiming to be the "atto" (which I think was their speech synthesizer's interpretation of "ATO") advising me that they were commencing legal proceedings against me, and that I must call them back to discuss it. The idea that they can afford lawyers, and a call centre to handle my call, but not someone to actually inform me personally is laughable, but I can understand how this obvious scam would upset a number of people.
I'm trying to find out whether or not this is a premium number, and I'll be reporting to Scam Watch and Telstra to see what they can do.

I had a phone call from this number it was a automated voice saying that they were from the taxation dept and that VEDA were suing me! My sister works for the ATO and said they do not do this. SCAM.
I got a recorded call from this number advising that the "pensions office" is filing a lawsuit against me. I should call back immediately to learn more about the case.
What a shameless scam. ATO does not work very well so maybe "pensions office" will for some people?
My son just received a phone call "from the ATO" asking for back payment and threatening to arrest him if not paid today!! The ATO does not work in this way.
