I have received a call from this number telling me I have a case against me in court.... Sounds like a scam.

SCAM!

I returned this call and spoke at length to the individual. The script they followed was:

- Claimed to be from the Legal Department of the ATO.

- Provided a case number and an ATO employee ID.

- Said the Federal Police were recording the call.

- Claimed that the Federal police would be at my house to deliver a court order for Tax Evasion and Tax Fraud.

- They had my correct home address.

- They had my full name.

- They said the claim was for $1578.88 in unpaid taxes from 2010-2015.

- Wanted me to decide on the call if I was going to settle in-court or out-of-court.

Same as everybody else. They called on my mobile while I was on another call, but they were courteous enough to actually leave a message rather than hang up.

I now have it recorded on my voicemail. It was a robotic message quoting the same information as others, but it did remind me of the song "Domo Arigato Mr Roboto, Domo, Domo". Anyway I digress.

I went into my call settings and have now blocked it.

Maybe I should get Siri to record my voicemail greeting and then if Mr Roboto calls back and it goes to my voicemail both the robots will be talking with each other. Maybe they could sing a song together, like "Jennifer Warnes and Joe Cocker - Love Lift Us Up".

Or maybe somehow get a 3 way conference feature set up on my voicemail and get the "OK Google" voice over to work in with Siri so that when Mr Roboto calls and goes to my voicemail and starts talking to Siri "Ok Google" will start asking questions like "did you mean?" and Siri could say "I didn't quite get that" and they start confusing each other and then they break out into a medley and all 3 robots feel like they are on Eddy Grants song "Electric Avenue".

How cool!

But even cooler would be to get Siri to question Mr Roboto on my voicemail with "And Then?" like that scene with Ashton Kutcher and Seann William Scott from "Dude where's my car".

Classic!

So in a nutshell, its a scam.

Just received the same message as described by others here. Immediately thought it sounded very scammy from but glad to have it confirmed here.

Missed a call from this number and they left a computer generated voice message as described by others about tax evasion and asking to ring them back to avoid police showing up on my doorstep/at my employer... Dodgy dodgy.

I just received a automated message from this number 02 6100 4480 as soon as I picked up the call, saying that this from Australian Taxation Office regarding tax fraud and police will be at my doorstep, if I don't call them back.

Total Scam - called me, said I could settle a tax fraud outside of court - referred me to someone 'higher up' who told me that 'not even god to save me from this terrible crime'. Laughed and hung up on them. Was a little distressing at first though.

I received a computerised voice message as soon as I picked up the call. Saying that police will be on my doorstep or my employer if I don't call them back?? That scare the hell out of me!! I called the number, but it's always engaged. Then I read there were so many people have the same experience. I blocked the number immediately.

These guys need to change there scam approach.

Computerised, recorded voice call, with hidden or implied threats, referring to a fictitious tax debt. These people are no more than Pond Scum and should be treated as such.

Auto dialler with recorded message demanding call back or else... Police, ATO mentioned. Called old phone # I used once for a domain reg.

Called twice. Reported to scamwatch though they did not really have a category for this.

Just got a call and it's an automated message claiming to be from the Commonwealth relating to ATO debt. "Final warning".

Definitely a scam.

ATO won't call with automated messages but communicates via letters and YouGov-platform.

I just got a voice recorded message too! Saying I will get arrested if I don't call back this number which is from ATO. My alarm bells went off so when the guy answered I said I'm calling and it sounds like a scam to me but can you help me understand this call..... The person hung up.... Then I googles and came across this page! Its a scam! Thank goodness for internet and posting!

Just had the same message as above saying "we want you or your lawyer to call us back before you see a police officer on your doorstep or place of employment". So glad I checked this first (googled the number). How can this keep going? Surely the AUS police can shut this down? I have young children and was quite worried as they rang three times in a row.

Yep its a spam call! They left a voicemail and I called back.

Just had one this morning, indian gets cranky on the phone asking if I have a representative to come to court blah blah.. This is a serious matter he carried on... And carries on.. Kept having to get him to repeat couldn't understand him, he just got louder lol.

Knew my name and address when I called back even though I only gave my first name when I called back.

Machine recording instructing myself or my lawyer to ring back or else a police will show up at my door step or at my place of work.

I returned the call and an aggressive indian man started confirming my details (Name, address, etc.) although the address he had was 3 years old, so they've got access to older files.

When I asked what this was about he got upset and told me to stop asking what this is about to avoid further trouble. I hung up and Googled the phone number and found this thread.

A voice message requesting call back to 02 6100 4480 in order to avoid police arriving at the doorstep of home or place of employment.

All in a computer synthesised voice!

Received a call - left a message threating to have police on the doorstep if call is not returned. I will be reporting this one.
