Understanding the Risks of Phone Number 02 5761 0300
The phone number 02 5761 0300 / 0257610300 has raised significant concerns among users, categorised as a scam number. Reports indicate that this number is being used to deceive victims by impersonating Coinbase, a legitimate digital currency wallet and trading platform.
Scam Analysis
Based on user reviews, the predominant theme revolves around SMS messages allegedly from Coinbase sending one-time codes. These messages typically read: “Your one-time code is [insert code]. If this was not you, contact us on: (02) 5761 0300.” The consistent pattern of these fraudulent notifications suggests a concerted effort by scammers to exploit unsuspecting individuals.
Specifics of the Scam
This scam aims to create a sense of urgency and manipulate individuals into thinking their Coinbase accounts have been compromised. The messages often imply that there are unauthorised login attempts from overseas and encourage the recipient to create or transfer funds to a new wallet to "secure" their cryptocurrency. Such instructions are designed to lead victims to give their information – essentially, handing over their hard-earned funds to criminals.
Protect Yourself
To safeguard against scams like these, consider the following actions:
- Do not respond to unsolicited messages from unfamiliar numbers.
- Always verify claims directly through official customer service channels of the implicated organisation.
- Report the number to local authorities or scam alert organisations.
- Utilise tools like Reverseau or reverse phone lookup services in Australia to identify unknown numbers.
Conclusion
In summary, the phone number 02 5761 0300 / 0257610300 is associated with scam calls masquerading as Coinbase communications. Users are strongly advised to exercise caution and conduct thorough checks when receiving suspicious messages. Awareness and careful scrutiny can significantly diminish the chances of falling victim to such fraudulent schemes.

SMS with one-time code for something, says to contact on a number if it wasn't you
Received the same text message as others have shared here.
Your one-time code is 670231. If this was not you, contact us on: (02)5761-0300.
Nearly fell for their scam but fortunately looked up their number here AND asked Coinbase live chat whilst I was on the phone with them. Thanks everyone!
They'll say people have attempted to login your account from overseas, tell you they'll look into this for you and closely monitor for the next 48 hours, but in the meantime please create a wallet (with the 12th recovery word provided by them) to transfer your coins off the exchange to your Coinbase wallet for security purposes instead of your hardware wallet - this way you'll be "100% insured" by Coinbase if any coins are stolen.
Seemed pretty sophisticated at first, but upon reflection, lots of gaps if you maintain calm and think logically.
