Unmasking the Deceptive Caller: 02 5602 4423
If you've received a call from 02 5602 4423 / 0256024423, it’s vital to pay attention. Numerous reports indicate that this number is linked to a scam operation, specifically APPC Capital Advisory from Singapore. The reviews suggest a manipulative investment scheme targeting individuals with promises of astonishing returns.
Understanding the Scam
The callers from 02 5602 4423 / 0256024423 are leveraging high-pressure tactics, claiming to offer investment opportunities in a new Initial Public Offering (IPO) of a Canadian gold mining company known as Thackeray. Victims recount conversations that initially seem professional, involving well-articulated pitches, but red flags soon arise:
- The company has limited online presence, and most information available comes from their own marketing materials.
- Calls are often made from newly established numbers that lack a verified track record.
- Prospective investors are pressured into quick decisions, a classic tactic used by scammers.
- Promises of extraordinary returns are not only unrealistic but indicative of fraudulent schemes.
Why You Should Be Cautious
Alarmingly, users note that they were targeted thanks to previously gathered information from other marketing companies—another common practice in scamming. People reported being lured with the notion of exclusive investment rounds, but legitimate investment opportunities don’t come through unsolicited calls felt through pressure. If the venture were credible, solid businesses wouldn't need to recruit investors this way.
Advice on Handling Such Calls
Should you receive a call from 02 5602 4423 / 0256024423 or any similar number, remember the following:
- Do not engage: Simply hang up on the caller. Engaging can often lead to further attempts at contact.
- Report the number: Notify local authorities or consumer protection agencies about the scam.
- Use Reverseau: To investigate unknown numbers and protect yourself from further intrusions.
Your vigilance is your best defence. Trust your instincts and avoid potential threats from suspicious calls. Keeping informed can empower you to recognise and act wisely when encountering possible scams.

I have also recieved a call for this scammer, pretending to be a Broker with a special IPO from APPC Capital and Thackeray Mining. Red Flags for me were the promise of 50% or more returns for being in the first "round" of the IPO, if I didn't get in quick then it would be more expensive the second and third rounds... This is not how an IPO works. There is nothing about APPC capital researchable other than a website and links like this to scams. The amount of shares in this pretend IPO are tiny, companies don't do batches of 2000 shares at $2.50 US. Finding information on Thackeray mines is difficult (other than the dodgy website they send you) Anyway total scam don't let the BBC english speaking gentleman tell you otherwise!
I didn't get one from this number, I got called from a local Perth number 0863659458. I just had half an hour on the phone with a lovely sounding Charles Johnson from APPC capital about the Thackeray Mining and Minerals opportunity which would only require an investment of minimum about $8k.
Its undoubtedly a SCAM, the mines on the very well presented website don't belong to Thackeray or don't exist and theres no depth to APPC capital being involved in IPO's or having a successful trading history. Its website says founded in 2015, but it was registered in 2020.
Had a few calls from APPC Capital of Singapore over last few days. They're spruiking the IPO of a Canadian gold mining company, Thackeray.
Was initially going to invest, but some alarm bells going off. Whilst they have a professional looking website (as does the Canadian company), they're is not much else online about them.
Wondering if the deal was so good, why where they were pitching it to me, a small time individual investor, with $10k Aus to throw in?
Beware!!
If you’ve looked up this number, chances are you’ve been contacted by APPC Capital Advisory Singapore. This is most likely a scam.
The person you're speaking to will sound like they know what they're doing but that's because you've already passed their first filter so they're willing to spend more time on you with someone higher up their scam ring. They likely got your details from a previous call with a so-called “marketing” company which was that filter. While they have a website and have been incorporated for some time, there’s almost no online presence beyond their own materials.
A major red flag is that the number they’re calling from has only been active for a few days. Their pitch sounds tempting, but they pressure you to act quickly, which is a classic scamming tactic. Legitimate investment firms don’t cold-call small investors with “too good to be true” deals. If this were a real opportunity, they wouldn’t need to find investors this way. The website of the company that's going to IPO is also suspect.
Stay safe, trust your instincts, and don’t engage, this is pretty much certain to be a scam.
