Scam call: I let it go to voicemail (as I'm getting a run of scam calls this week). The recorded message said something about a "epidemic emergency", and the common line about pressing 1 for English or 2 for Chinese etc.
Spam.
I was greeted by a recorded message that referenced an "epidemic emergency" and asked for me to press 1 for English or 2 if I was a Chinese student. I'm certain this call was a scam.
The caller left a message saying, "Press 1 if you’re a Chinese student," among other things. I blocked the number since they had called me before.
I didn't answer the call, but a voice message was left stating it was an urgent pandemic notification. They instructed me to press 1 if I was Australian and to press 2 if I was Chinese.
