Receiving unsolicited calls can be frustrating, especially from numbers you don't recognise. One such number that has caught the attention of many users is 02 4859 6320. This number has been linked to a prevalent tech support scam, where callers misrepresent themselves as representatives from reputable companies such as Telstra.

Users' Reports: The Red Flags

Feedback from users indicates that they often receive multiple calls a day from this number and others claiming the same purpose. A notable complaint, reported on 7 February 2019, describes a scenario where the caller insisted that someone was downloading files from their computer. The caller, who poorly pronounced the individual's name, urged the user to press certain keys to supposedly rectify their internet issues. Alarmingly, such calls can often target people whose numbers are private or unlisted, raising questions about how the callers obtained this information.

Getting calls from this and other NSW no's this week, twice a day - supposed to be from Telstra - says someone is downloading from my computer. If I press 2 keys they can show me how to fix my internet. I abused them yesterday but another called today - twice. How did they get my number, it's supposed to be unlisted/silent/ private, and my name as well, though he couldn't pronounce it. Reported to Telstra, but do they really care?
