    This is a nuisance SCAM phone call using a Australian business phone number. Phoning twice a day for a week leaving no messages.

    3 calls today. I did not answer calls as I did not recognise number and caller did not leave a message. A few minutes after each call, another call came in from a private number, Again I did not answer and I wish these people could be stopped.

    Called me three times in middle of the day, without leaving a message. Finally answered on third call and was told I had been selected to receive a discount on accommodation. I thought he said TL Travel but they probably change the name anyway. He even recited my address and phone number to me as if that proved I had given them those details. Declined and hung up. I called the number back and go an answering machine.

    Noticed I've just missed a call on my mobile from this number that did not leave message. By co-incidence?? My fixed phone went dead yesterday (Telstra due to repair tomorrow) & its calls are diverted to my mobile. I wouldn't be surprised if this mystery caller is pretending to be from Telstra & somehow "knows" that I am likely to be getting a legitimate call from them??

    Received a phone call from this number saying that I had won a heavily discounted holiday and would only have to pay $300 for the weeks accomodation. Apparently sometime in the last 2 years I had filled out a competition. Said they were from DL travel I think. I told them I hadn't filled in the form and they said you may not remember. They stated my phone number as some sort of proof of this. They eventually hung up on me.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
