02 4072 3228 (0240723228): Community reports of robocalls in foreign languages, impersonation of mobile carrier, and urgency tactics. Multiple contributors report Chinese-speaking callers.

Robocall and Mobile Impersonation Reports for 02 4072 3228

Five contributors have reported calls from 02 4072 3228 (also written as 0240723228) describing robocall activity combined with impersonation tactics. The pattern involves automated or foreign-language calls, with at least one contributor reporting a caller claiming to be deactivating their mobile service. This combination of robocall characteristics and impersonation attempts suggests a coordinated scam operation targeting Australian phone users.

The number is allocated to a local service provider (Symbio Networks Pty Ltd) in New South Wales, though this does not validate the caller's claims. Contributors consistently report that callers do not respond in English or claim not to speak English, making it difficult to engage or verify the nature of the contact.

What Callers from 02 4072 3228 Say and Do

One contributor received a call from 02 4072 3228 where the caller claimed they were deactivating the recipient's mobile service, creating urgency around account action. When this contributor tried to interact, they encountered language barriers - the voicemail system offered an option to press 1 for English service, but when pressed, a person responded saying they only spoke Chinese.

Other reports describe calls arriving in foreign languages, with no clear explanation of purpose. One contributor noted that when attempting to call back the number 0240723228, the mailbox was full and unreachable. Multiple callers appear to be using robocall systems - one report described calls in different languages without human interaction, and another noted the contributor received multiple calls from 02 4072 3228 to their number.

Report Patterns and Contributor Experiences

Three of the five reports were answered calls, with two diverted to voicemail. The voicemail reports describe foreign-language messages with no clear identification of the caller's purpose or organisation. One contributor explicitly stated they received similar calls from other numbers, suggesting this may be part of a broader robocall campaign targeting multiple phone numbers across Australia.

Contributors who answered or heard voicemails from 02 4072 3228 reported immediate blocking and deletion of the number. One contributor expressed frustration about the volume of such calls, noting that telecom providers appear unable or unwilling to filter out robocall activity before it reaches customers. The language barrier appears intentional - when given the option to request English service, the response was a refusal or inability to communicate.

Didn’t answer, but they left a voicemail speaking another language. Have received calls like this from other numbers too, unsure what it is or what they want.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does 02 4072 3228 call in different languages if they're targeting Australian phone numbers?

Multiple contributors have reported receiving calls from 02 4072 3228 in foreign languages, particularly Chinese. This appears to be automated robocall activity that indiscriminately targets large numbers of Australian phone numbers. The language barrier may be intentional - it discourages engagement, making it harder for recipients to verify or challenge the scam. When one contributor pressed an option to request English service from 0240723228, the response was refusal to communicate in English, suggesting the operation has limited customer service infrastructure.

The caller from 02 4072 3228 claimed they were deactivating my mobile service. Should I be concerned?

Yes. This is a known impersonation tactic reported with 02 4072 3228. No legitimate mobile carrier will call you to deactivate your service without prior notice or account action from you. If you receive such a call from 0240723228 or similar number, hang up immediately and contact your mobile provider directly using a number from your bill or their official website. Never provide account details or verification information to unsolicited callers claiming to represent your provider.

I tried calling back 02 4072 3228 and the mailbox was full. Is this normal?

A full mailbox on 0240723228 is a red flag. Legitimate businesses maintain working voicemail systems. One contributor reported this exact experience - attempting to call back 02 4072 3228 resulted in a full mailbox that could not accept messages. This pattern is consistent with temporary robocall numbers used for scam campaigns and then abandoned once they become widely reported.

Should I block 02 4072 3228 if it calls me?

Yes, absolutely. Multiple contributors have blocked 0240723228 after receiving calls, and this is the recommended action. The combination of robocall characteristics, language barriers, impersonation claims about mobile service, and reports of repeated calls to multiple Australian phone numbers justifies immediate blocking. Your phone's block list can be managed in Settings under Call or Message filtering.

Is 02 4072 3228 a legitimate Symbio Networks number?

The number 0240723228 is allocated to Symbio Networks Pty Ltd, a local service provider in NSW, but allocation does not mean the caller is legitimate. Scammers routinely spoof or misuse allocated numbers, and robocall systems may be using this number without authorisation. If you have a genuine account with Symbio Networks, contact them directly using a number from their website to verify any claims made by calls from 02 4072 3228.

Should I report 02 4072 3228 if I didn't answer the call?

Yes. Even if you did not answer or only received voicemail from 02 4072 3228 (0240723228), you should report it to ACMA and Scamwatch. Community reports help build patterns of scam activity and alert other Australians to the same robocall number. These details assist authorities in taking action against robocall campaigns.
