This clearly appears to be a scam operation. I don't understand why Telstra or the telecommunication provider associated with this number has not taken action to shut them down. My phone system identifies these calls as 'unknown,' so I choose not to answer. The telecommunications companies should be more proactive about this issue because they are well aware that these numbers are being used for illegal activities. They need to take steps to eliminate these scammers.
The caller alleged that there were two unauthorized transactions made on my card earlier today—one for $199 at Amazon and another for $300 at a cash service. When I requested clarification on which card these charges were made to, they informed me the call was being recorded. Upon asking again for the card details, they abruptly hung up on me.
