    This number 02 4017 0298 just rang me. I didn't answer and they left a robo voice message telling me that court filing are currently being made against me and that if I did not call them back I would be arrested. They gave no other details.

    I rang back and and Indian man's voice answered. I said I got their message and asked what it was about. He said this is about "major problems with your income tax reports". At that point I started asking question (he attempted to get more info off me while I was doing this, but apart from my first and last name, he got nothing else). I said, what EXACTLY was the problem? He replied "your financial statements are incorrect", then I said, which financial statements, and who do you represent, and what period is the for? The barrage of questions I think scared him, so he hung up. Idiot.

    Be aware! Block this number or if you answer, don't give out any private info.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
