    Number called twice, hanging up when I answered it. I only answered because I have a friend in the 07 area code. No one but family and my ISP knows my mobile number. I will be complaining. Watch for the Heart Foundation number scalpers at local supermarkets. Your number is worth more than your donation.

    Got a call just a minute ago. Claim from Austraia Contact Centre. Asked how did he get my number and said they have sources. Background noisy and said for coaching purposes. Just told caller not interested.

    Murderers and burglars have been known to use this number and to call to see if you are at home so they can violate you and yours.

    Wake up or don't complain. Strangers have our numbers. Wake up.

    Go to police. Get a lawyer.

    They use an answering system. Call themselves The Australian Contact Inquiry Centre.

    You all need to gang together and see a legal eagle and start class action (or singular litigation) as I am doing.

    Telecommunications companies, the Australian G'ment AND the cold callers who have acquired unlisted numbers need to be hit where it hurts.

    Stand up for your privacy and rights (or don't complain online).

    The choice is yours. Don't back down.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
