How the Scam Operates

Individuals who receive messages or calls from 0467 426 513 / 0467426513 typically report an attractive offer from a supposedly friendly couple claiming to own an apple farm in northern NSW. The message often includes promises of good pay at $21 per hour along with included food and accommodation. However, the catch lies in the demand for a deposit before confirming the job, which ranges from $50 to $250 for transport and accommodation.

Why This Number is Classified as a Scam

  • Request for Upfront Payment: Legitimate employers do not ask potential employees for upfront payments, making this a strong indicator of fraud.
  • Inconsistent Messaging: Many users report receiving nearly identical responses, indicating a scripted approach typical of scammers.
  • Lack of Communication After Payment: Victims have shared that once they pay the deposit, the callers become unreachable, which is a classic sign of a scam operation.

How to Protect Yourself

If you receive a call or text from 0467 426 513 / 0467426513, it's crucial to take the following steps:

  • Avoid Responding: Do not send any messages or money to this number.
