    Scam: called the number and was not happy with the way the call was answered. Hung and called NAB main number - they confirmed it to be a scam. The scammers even rang me back! Suspect these guys are UK based.

    Got a text from this number saying Khan Motors have set up a direct debit on my account.

    Rang number on land line and they seem to know who I had other bank accounts with. Gave them no information about account, and when I said no money in accounts they hung up.

    Very convincing scammer Matthew Charles from Commonwealth Bank fraud Department with an alert regarding unauthorized transaction of $1700 from Amazon. He persuaded me to download revolut and anydesk to view my bank accounts and I gave him codes so he could access mygov to make a false claim. He took a digital selfie of me too. I was had for 5 hours today.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
