    Part of a scam email. It's a very amateur fake PayPal email, with bad grammar and all kinds of errors, that claims you've bought something expensive on your PayPal account but you can call this number to reverse the transaction.

    Have you ever seen a PayPal email like that? Of course not. What company says "thanks for your order, please ring up and cancel it ASAP!" Naturally the real reason they want you to call is to get YOUR phone number and to target your for other scams.

    They were sending these at exactly 8.35 am every 7 days for a couple of months. Now they've been sending them almost every day. I wonder why they think if you don't believe it today you'll fall for it tomorrow.

    Calling from a phone box at 4 am there is indeed an indian accented male who answers with "Hello, this is PayPal" and wanted my full details, which I didn't provide.

    Pretends to be from McAfee (as a g-mail saying protection service has been purchased) but has sender name Valerie Diaz (with Prasad Naidu in the background). Ring this above number if it's incorrect. Don't ring the number! It's a scam.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
