Just another hearing centre offering free hearing checks in order to flog expensive hearing aids. National Hearing Care (NHC), in this case. They repeatedly tried ringing my partner (four times in one day) until he answered. They tried to offer a free hearing check but my partner said no. However, he did mention I am part deaf. They then very persistently tried to talk him into setting up an appointment for me. Apparently, they think my parter is qualified to make medical appointments on my behalf. Insultingly, though, even though my partner always referred to me with the male pronoun, the cow from NHC kept on using the female pronoun to refer to me. Eventually my partner said, "Fine. Send us a letter with an appointment if you must but we both work full time so we're not going to keep the appointment anyway." Then he hung up. Skip forward a week and I get a letter addressed to "Ms [my name]" thanking me for "choosing them for my free hearing check". They also booked in an appointment for me during my hours and without my consent. Of course, I'm not going to keep the appointment but I would very much like to know how they got our address and phone number.
