    (08) 7092 2597 - picked up this call, caller said he is calling from a Cryto Investment company, I told him I am not interested and hung up. Within a few seconds, received call from 0480 900 006 - the same guy - I hung up! Another few seconds, received call from (07) 3073 1451 - the same guy asking me not to hang up on him - I hung up and blocked all 3 numbers on my mobile.

    Answered call. Female computer voice spoke. Stating that they were from Vodafone and that the network was going down for maintenance. Press 1 for English or 2 for Chinese. I did not press any and left the call on speaker phone. The same message then replayed itself and I left the call. TOTAL SCAM.

    My phone flagged it as potential fraud. I didn't answer and they left no message, so it's probably not someone I would voluntarily talk to!

    I live in QLD. Call is from Adelaide. They didn't leave a message. No one from Adelaide calls me, so be warned it is most likely a scammer!

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
