    This is the first call I have received from an 08 number. They are usually 02. All I heard was ARS from a male with an accent. I hung up. They called back the next day but I didn't answer until I checked on reverse phone calls. Thanks to everyone who made comments about this number I now know to add to the reject list.

    Anyone heard of Australian on Disc? This ARS or whatever insurance company is claimed to have received our details from the AoD thing, surely not legal.

    Anyone followed this up?

    Same number keeps calling, each time I don't give them a chance to say anything except to give then the chance to listen to my abuse. Normally they call again in the next day or 2 and I give exactly the same abuse. Then after that no calls except from some other mob either selling or wanting a donation. Atleast they make my day.

    Got a call from this number about life insurance. It was an Indian woman and she said her name was "Nicky" calling from ARS. Another number to block. It's getting very frustrating not knowing if the call is another bs life insurance call or a genuine call.

    Ive been receiving these phone calls from this phone number as well. Do not give them any information! I asked where he got my information and he replied with "Australian AISC". I think he means Australian ASIC... He couldn't even get that right. He asked about an email and address and I simply refused to give it to them. Look out!!

    I keep getting calls from the same people multiple times in the day so I block one number and they call me from another. This is the latest number they have called me from after blocking 2 numbers. I like most people I have noticed, have no idea how they got my number and tell them constantly to stop calling but it's useless.

    This number is from telemarketers from india saying they are calling from RVS or something like that but they are calling on behalf of insurance line. They also call from a few other numbers similar to this. I have been called by this number for over a year now. I have called insurance line many times now and have asked for my number to be taken off their accounts. Obviously that didn't happen. Unfortunately for me, Im going to have to change MY personal number because this company will not leave me alone.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
