    I got a call from this number the other day, I didn't answer, but they left a voice message with a robotic voice (like anonymous) threatening me that if I don't call back I will get in serious trouble and will get arrested. Careful with this number guys.

    Mechanical recorded voice threatening with arrest.

    Well advertised scammer attack method.

    Language used is stilted, not a well prepared script.

    This is a SCAM. I returned a missed call. Then, this woman who speaks English with Philippines accent, without identifying herself, proceeded to request my personal details. I asked what the call was for and she said it was the tax fraud. I don’t think so. And she said ‘Then hang up.’ Obviously this call was a scam.

    This number is a scam / spam number - they leave a voice message with a request to call back this number - 08 6102 0053.

    The voicemail message threatens to take legal enforcement action if you do not call back. So this is a SCAM number.

    I recommend EVERYONE call this number to re-SCAM them.

    That way, they will know not to do the same to THEM.

    Got a call from this number 08 6102 0053 on my mobile and I didn't answer because I didn't know the number.

    But out of curiosity I called back that number and an Indian guy answered the call saying "how can I help you?". I said, you tell me why did you call me? He said, "how long ago?", I said, "few minutes ago". He again said, "How can I help you?"...I then said, "You tell me why did you call me. I just want to find out why did you call me?" He said, "I didn't call you"... then I hung up. So, bottom line is this is either hijacked phone number that SCAMMERs are using or it is legit phone number that scammers are using. BE AWARE...

    I receveid a call from 08 61020053, and he claimed to be from ATO, and he said ATO has filed a legal case on me for cheating on the tax for $7000+, and the speaking tone is quite aggressive that I even asked him to clam down. I asked him to talk to my accountant, and then his line broke off. After that a call came with 02 6216 1111 (called 5 times). I called my accountant and they advised that there is no legal file on me from ATO and everything is fine.

    Please take caution of this number.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
