    Called cell phone and landline in quick succession. Didn’t leave message. I assumed it was a nuisance call and see others have had a similar experience. I will now block this number.

    Considering I just blocked a hacker on social media, after reporting them for blackmailing me and threatened me, took 400$ from me. For me to contact the police and crime stoppers. And reported to my bank. I do believe this is the same person. That gave me false information about there services. Turns out they was a hacking service to spy on people of your choosing. When I realised I declined there help and thats when they turned nasty and said they was gonna expose me to my partner with wrong information. If I didn't pay them money and then pay them more money to delete our conversation to then blackmail me not to block them or they will recover our chat and expose me to my partner and other people. I was shaking and in tears scared that my partner would believe them over me, because they hacked my Facebook before deleting and with me still on FB to being told I've been hacked on FB and need to change my password. And have double security.

    Claimed from master card said card had been compromised with two international air fares advised they had cancelled card but wanted to know expiry date and security number kept referring to my husband by shortened version of his name which doesn't appear on card - we refused these details and checked with bank who confirmed a scan - bank never asks for security code.

    Speaking in an Asian language, left a pre-recorded voicemail. I've had many of these calls, to the point I don't answer my phone anymore, unless I know who it is. When the call is from an unknown number, at 6:30 pm, on a Sunday, chances are it's a scam.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
