    Have had 8-10 calls from this number, trying to offer a better deal on my mortgage. Whenever I ask to speak to a supervisor they say "hello? hello? Can you hear me? Are you there?" as if the line has dropped out. They call back the next day and do the whole thing again.

    This number called me today and I rejected it knowing I never receive calls from anyone I don't know and mums friend had told me about similar numbers calling her and how she thinks they're scammers. I don't know how these phone call scams work but it's just another unnecessary hassle in today's messed up world. I also don't know how these people get their information but what a joke honestly!

    Called yesterday. Addressed me by surname. Claimed to be something about the mortgage. I put the phone down before discovering how the scam would work.

    Constant daily call from this number. Linked to overseas telemarketing centre. That ask for David, I so no not here then they hang up straight away. I call them back and it rings out. Very cranky with this constant calling.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
