    James from The Wine Group. These calls are so frustrating you just end up hanging up on them.. After reading what other has written I feel it is probably a robot programmed to have answers for each response you give. So frustrating!!!!

    The wine group been fined by ACMA $200.000 by ACMA for being telemarketing pests on the 12th May 2002 (just Google the wine group and you can read about the case). Please keep reporting to ACMA (via website) - until this pest gets a bigger fine, otherwise they will not give up!

    It's not a person on the other side. It's an AI, it 'listens' to however many nos you say, but it is programmed to sell you wine, so all of its scripts is literally constantly adding scraps and nibs salesmanship until you give up. It counts on you being polite and patient, but it also does not care one iota how much you object. You must buy their wine.

    Spam and pushy - kept changing numbers and called at least 5 times. Hang up before he verbally abuse you to force you to buy wine even if I told him I don't drink.

    My advice is to continually call James back and harass him till he blocks you. The most satisfying hour of my life. It wastes his time and means less people get spammed or ripped off.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
