    Received a phone call today (saturday 22 / 7 / 17) at precisely (12:06pm) from the above number described ?

    Caller did not speak "BUT", a seemingly governmental type.

    Of recorded message that only said this word "GOODBYE" had been left? This may have been a "GENUINE" ERROR or.

    Someone playing a silly game / prank? Apparently, people.

    Whom have been on juries (Up to 20 years ago) have these.

    Sort of calls before being 'MURDERED " ? Police + the australian crime authorities (INCLUDING VARIOUS LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES) are very aware of "CRIMINAL / BOGUS".

    Forces ? This maybe just a wrong call ?

    This number rang and I answered and it said goodbye after I said hello. When I called it back I am told this number doesn't exist.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
