“Frank Green” using a buisness whattsap Tried to buy something I was selling on Gumtree. Claimed he wanted to use a courier from Auspost. The screenshot of instructions he sent was dodgy - not easily obvious, but enough for me go ask for the direct link, rather than the screenshot. The weblink was legit but I couldn't find any info like he suggested. When I advised I had a preferred payment method I didn't hear back from him - but I found this out in the interim. Don't be fooled. He may be a lazy scammer, but im sure he fools a lot.

Once you are happy to go ahead with the sale they will send you a link to ask for your credit card details. DON'T BE FOOLED!!!! This one is quick and I have only placed my Gumtree ad only 15 minutes and a guy by the name Frank Reed sends an whatsap message offering to buy your goods.
