    The lady didn't even know my name and as others reported, she pretended to be from Telstra tech support and said my internet connection was not secure and some malicious virus was downloaded and she's gonna help sort it out for me. When I said I don't need her help she threatened me that then my internet connection will be disconnected, I told her to go ahead and she hung up.

    Missed call twice on two days, no message left therefore I didn't phone back because it is probably a scam. Reading these comments I think I was correct.

    Called our unlisted mobile. We never answer unless they are in our contact list. As they didn't leave a message we assume it to unsolicited and possibly a scam. The caller is now deleted and blocked. Our number is registered on the "Do Not Call List".

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
