    Trying to sell health insurance. Alleged they got the number from Aussie Gift Card, then white pages then list brokers. My number is on the do not call register. She tells me that it doesn't matter as they are not selling anything.

    This call comes through from a person identifying themselves as Aussie Protect - they were demanding to know if we had health insurance. I said this call is completely unsolicited and refused to speak to them. Definitely harassment using various methods and numbers.

    Called me twice today from two different numbers. Reported to the ACMA as per someone else's advice. I'm on the Do Not Call Register so they should not be calling me. Hopefully they get a fine or at least have a sh*t day explaining themselves.

    Best idea don’t answer unknown numbers. Genuine people will leave a message or contact you some way other way!

    I lodged a formal complain on the ACMA website for a marketing call when my number is on the Do Not Call Register. Hopefully that will cop them a fine.

    He did not like me swearing at him as he claimed I have filled out a competition to release my number. He is a Liar as I do not give my number out.

    OPTUS SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND SHUT THE NUMBER DOWN. Annoying little piece of dog poop.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
