    Don't answer any calls from this number or ring this number back. It is a recording. You'll become a victim of identity fraud. A guy called "Peter" with an Indian accent called me today twice (first call was a missed call) and he said he was from "Contact Services" which doesn't exist. This call originates from Sydenham, Victoria, a bull crap non-existant service which I researched up with the info I got before I hung up my call. I'm just wondering how this bastard got my mobile number to begin with.

    Received a call at 1535 Sat Oct 15th and hung up once I answered.

    Have called back on a similar number and they have a random name.

    Possibly calling to obtain details through your message bank to call at a later time.

    Be cautious.

    Called my mobile at 3.28pm on Saturday. No message left, I didn't call back. Have had 4 of these types of calls in the last couple of days, not sure what's brought them on. Will block these numbers if they call more than twice without leaving a message.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
