    This number has been regularly calling me. The man has a south African accent. He identified me by my full name and gave an old address and postcode. He was polite and incorrectly addressed me as Mrs. He claimed to call from an insurance company saying I am titled to upto $7500 dollars compensation for a recent car incident. I have had a recent car incident so I asked him where he got my details from. He said from the insurance company. I asked him what date the incident was. He said he did not have this information. I asked who I was insured with. He was unable to say. I told him I suspected this was a scam call. He became verbally agressive saying I was not giving him a fair chance to understand what he was calling about. He said I had not responded to an email they sent me. I said resend it now. He said he did not have my email. I hung up. He then recalled. And recalled and recalled.

    Rude b**ch with english accent!!! Calls me at home, gives me an attitude and starts yelling when I asked what exactly did she want from me. Very evasive, something about an insurance claim in the past 18mths, obviously just after private info. Hang up!

    This number has been calling my mobile since 29/07/2016.

    The first time it called, I answered and was told it was such and such and have I heard of insurance line? I hung up and immediately added the number to my reject list. Since that date this number has called 10 more times, including just now at 2:45am AEST!!!

    What can I do about this? I am absolutely livid right now!

    Definitely a scam. Have called me three times and wasted my time in all three instance. Saying they are not trying to sell me anything but could not get to the point as to why they are calling. Saying they have report that I may have been in an accident, a minor one and could be entailed to some sort of payment. I have not been in any sort of accident so they are just trying to extract information. TOTAL SCAM.

    Auto Solutions regarding an accident I was involved in. I never had any accident of any kind. They are flat out lying. They couldn't say where the information came from, whether it be police report or third party insurance or what. English accents. They know the schtick to take any information you have to turn it to their scam.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
