    I have had 4 calls at 2.40am on my mobile phone... First it shows up as Private number then it displayed the number 0061385812300. I am in New Zealand. How on earth did they get my number? This is annoying. Hope it doesn't happen again. I can block the number but not if its Private.

    We have been receiving fax to phone calls from this number for the past few days..... Really bloody annoying.

    We originally thought it was a bank faxing to our phone accidentally so we sent a fax advising them of the correct no. But now it would appear it is some kind of spam/idiot.

    This has been calling for a few months now, during the day, at midnight, early mornings.

    I have started to unplug the phone. Also the number now 03 9066 2380.

    Phone companies should be getting onto this and cancel these numbers.

    Keeps calling during my night shift @ work, no verbal response or any noise (foreground or background) then hangs up.

    I've called the number back and only get fax/modem tones.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
