    I later logged into my legit Origin account and the changes had been made so it really was Origin.

    Had 2 missed calls from this number on Thurs 18/11 and Fri 19/11/22. I Rang back, it was Origin wanting to renegotiate my payment plan. They actually reduced the payments as usage had been lower.

    The operator sounded clear and 'local' with an Aussie voice.

    I answered. No one responded. Waited 3 secs then I hung up. Assume spam call. Could be Origin as another post mentions as need to speak with them. But frustrating they are obviously overseas call centre hence that delay and no response.

    Said it was origin but asked me for my name address and date of birth before they would tell me why calling I refused to give it and they hung up.

    Called back the # and 'sounded' like Origin Energy - messaging, music etc.

    Called Origins listed # and NO calls made to my number.

    Perhaps a sophisticated scam, perhaps the right hand not aware of what the left is doing, no idea atmo.

    No mssgs, nothing left on phone, no emails or contact otherwise.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
