    Left a voicemail saying they were from Apple Support, thank you for calling to log a job with them and to please call back when convenient. Only problem with all of that is that I never contacted Apple for any support. So I’m guessing it is a scam call spoofing off a legitimate number to make themselves look legit.

    Not a scam, just a wrong number called, to you.

    This is Apple Support in response to a request for help. Not a scam caller.

    I received an automated call from this number saying it was apple support. I hung up the first time and it called back. I hung up again.

    The call was placed on Sunday at about 1:55pm.

    I did not ask for this call and there was never anyone to respond on the other end. Only a computer.

    Confused???

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
