    Keep getting calls from mobile numbers that I block. They then just call from another number. When listening to the voicemail it says to call 1800 443 725. When calling the number they say they are from Telstra Special Recoveries and ask for my information which I declined to provide until they could give me information about why they are calling to which they said they were unable and ended the call. I have reported to scam watches.

    1800443725 is a scam call, it connects to Telstra data operators who have no knowledge of anyone called 'specialised recoveries', it was suggested that I report the number to Scamwatch immediately, which I have done. Apparently it's another ploy to get personal details to onsell to various criminal elements.

    I get the same recorded message. When I called the 1800 number, it was answered instantly. The man wanted my full name and Telstra account number before he would tell me what Specialized Recovery meant. When I requested an explanation before giving personal details he said there was no point in continuing the phone call and disconnected.

    Currently receiving around 5 calls a day from No Caller ID, always leaves a voicemail with an automated message saying it is "specialised recovery" and the call is regarding an account with Telstra. My account is with Telstra but it isn't under my name. I also received a voicemail telling me to call 1800 443 725. I spoke to a legitimate Telstra consultant who confirmed this number is not associaged with Telstra and to ignore the calls. As the automated message asks for identifying information from me, this is definitely a scam.

    I received a call saying, they left an automated message saying I had an important matter regarding Telstra. I don't have an account with Telstra so I would ignore these phone calls and messages. It's frustrating though as when I do answer the unknown number, they hang up instantly!

    Automated call saying its from Telstra. I looked up this number and found others who didn't even have Telstra accounts getting same call and using their name.

    Telephone scammers try to steal your money or personal information. Scams may come through phone calls from real people, robocalls, or text messages.

    Call or message may be a scam if:

    • You're asked for personal information or money;
    • Text messages tell you to urgently click a link or call a number;
    • The call or text pretends to be from someone you trust like your phone company or bank;
    • You're being threatened or made to feel scared;
    • The caller wants to access and control your computer.

    To protect yourself:

    • Don't answer if you don't know who it is. Let the call go to voicemail.
    • If a caller leaves a message claiming to be from known organisation, cross check the number the call came from against the organisation's official website.
    • Never share any personal information about yourself or your bank details.
    • Don't click on any links. Never let a stranger take control of your computer.
    • Do not send any money.
    • Block calls on your mobile phone. Your phone company can tell you how to block calls to your home phone.
